Hey, I’m Annika!Â
My running journey started in 2013 as a way to work through grief and depression with the sudden passing of my Dad. I knew nothing about the sport. I just laced up my shoes and tried to run. It was in those runs my life begin to change for the better! I found my new passion in life along with my Faith in Christ Jesus.
I begin challenging myself to run farther and faster. I signed up for my first half marathon in the fall of 2013, with zero knowledge of what I was doing. It was a hard and painful lesson to learn. I ran my first marathon the next year, still knowing very little about running. Again I performed poorly with the lack of knowledge and training.
Over the last several years I’ve spent many hours reading and researching about running: the sport, nutrition and psychology. My passion is to run strong and injury free. After having my son in 2016, I returned to running stronger and PR’d every race distance.
Others started noticing my improvements in running and began asking for my help/advice with training. As a “newbie runner” I made a lot of dangerous mistakes. I am determined to help others not make the same mistakes I did.
After several years of doing my own studying and research, I became a certified run coach with Road Runners Club of America in 2018. I coached runners a couple years on my own and before I started working with TeamRunRun in 2020. I have coached brand new runners to experienced marathoners, runners returning from injuries, Moms setting PRs after having babies, and first time ultra marathoners. I have worked with running clubs and races to create training plans and coached in-person training groups for half marathon races.
As Certified Adult Distance Running Coach, I continue to learn more each day to help people achieve their goals. My desire is to inspire others to chase their dreams and do the impossible! I am here to motivate, encourage and help others run their best!
I also, coach Cross County for middle & high schoolers at a 2B school. Where I’m continuing to build the program and love mentoring the students.
I am now a stay-at-home mom of three and a wife to a farmer. I enjoy mountain adventures & camping with my family in the summer. I usually trains for an ultra race in the winter(when my husband is not busy). And when I’m not being mom .. you find me coaching runners or planning races. I’m always up for meeting at coffee shop or running the trails!
One day at a time, one run at a time, one step at a time..Grace for every mile
